New Habits, Little by Little: Cooking at Home

By the end of this month, we started cooking in full summertime mode!  Turning on the oven makes the house feel a million times warmer, so I started searching out grilled meats and lots of salads.  We really hit our groove earlier this year with winter favorites, so I’m excited to see what we love during this new season.

Week 44 (cont.):
Tuesday, May 1: creamy chicken and asparagus pasta Wednesday, May 2: beef and broccoli with rice

Thursday, May 3: taco hand pies (we used regular biscuit dough because I couldn’t find the corn version)

Friday, May 4: homemade pepperoni pizza

Week 45:
Saturday, May 5: Cinco de Mayo! tacos Sunday, May 6: dijon pork tenderloin with roasted red potatoes, tomatoes and asparagus Monday, May 7: leftovers (the big kids had pizza at their CCD parties) Tuesday, May 8: slow cooker french onion meatballs with mashed potatoes and salad Wednesday, May 9: beef and broccoli with rice Thursday, May 10: breakfast for dinner – pancakes, eggs, bacon and strawberries

Friday, May 11: we picked up Chickfila while in town running errands

Week 46: Saturday, May 12: tacos

Sunday,  May 13: Mother’s Day! grilled chicken and brats, pasta salad, beans, potato salad, fruit salad (all the salads!!) with chocolate chip cookie sundaes for dessert

Monday, May 14: roasted chicken thighs with leftover sides from Mother’s Day Tuesday, May 15: shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches

Wednesday, May 16: kielbasa veggie bake with potatoes

Thursday, May 17: club sandwiches on homemade ciabatta bread with chips

Friday, May 18: homemade pepperoni pizza

Week 47: Saturday, May 19: Refrigerator Clean-Out Night Sunday, May 20: tacos Monday, May 21: roasted chicken pieces (our first time cutting up a whole chicken!), mashed potatoes and salad

Tuesday, May 22: oven baked meatball sandwiches

Wednesday, May 23: grilled chicken with southwest tortellini pasta salad Thursday, May 24: celebrated a big opportunity for Mark at our local burger place!

Friday, May 25: burgers and hotdogs on the grill, chips and fruit salad

Week 48: Saturday, May 26: leftovers Sunday, May 27: we were invited for dinner at a friend’s house: grilled pork tenderloin, zucchini, rice and beans and molasses cookies

Monday, May 28: Memorial Day! breakfast for dinner – homemade waffles, eggs and bacon

Tuesday, May 29: shredded BBQ chicken sliders with coleslaw and beans

Wednesday, May 30: BBQ chicken salads

Thursday, May 31: leftovers
